A MeChief Eve Irvinessage from Chief Irvine:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Police Department website.  We hope you find it helpful and easy to use.

The dedicated men and women of this Police Department are an integral part of this community, and the community is an integral part of the Police Department. We count on each other to keep this community safe and to work on quality of life issues so that its residents love living here, businesses thrive, and visitors enjoy their stay.

We are constantly trying to enhance the way we communicate with our community and welcome any feedback you have. Our newest communication venture is the launch of a Public Safety Notification System, Nixle, where subscribers  can receive text and email messages directly from the Manhattan Beach Police Department regarding community events and critical incidents.  If you haven't done so already, I would encourage you to consider signing up.  Since we launched the service on October 1, 2013, the community response has been tremendously positive.  To begin receiving text and/or email alerts from Manhattan Beach PD, sign up here

The partnership between the Police and the community, which includes our fantastic Neighborhood Watch program, epitomizes the best in community policing. We have one of the most active Neighborhood Watch programs in the nation, with nearly 500 residents currently participating as Neighborhood Watch block captains, covering the majority of our four square miles.

It is my honor to serve as your Chief of Police and to represent all the men and women who work very hard to make the Manhattan Beach Police Department a premiere full service law enforcement organization.  We deeply appreciate the support of our community and stand ready to answer any call for service in keeping our community safe.

Be safe, drive carefully, and take care.
