The mission of the Cultural Arts Program in Manhattan Beach is to fulfill the cultural needs of the community with a broad range of events and activities that provide a place for the arts.

New Events in the Arts
The Cultural Arts Program fulfills its mission by providing New Events and Activities which include multidisciplinary programs such as art classes; lectures about art, music and architecture; concerts and dance performances; the placement of Art in Public Places; theater productions; Exhibitions; Visual Art Camps and Classes; and various Performing Arts Classes and Camps for all ages. Cultural Environment Enrichment
Art experiences and activities enhance and promote the cultural and artistic environment of Manhattan Beach. We also provide the community with activities for the advancement of art education; to foster cooperation among community groups involved in the arts; and to explore the need for cultural facilities in the City.

The Cultural Arts Program in Manhattan Beach plays an important role in strengthening the community.  Participating in the arts fosters communication across segments of the community otherwise separated by generational, economic, social and cultural differences.  The arts programs in this community help build for the future by promoting self awareness, self confidence and self expression.  They ultimately represent the values of freedom of expression and compassion for the experiences and beliefs of all people that lie at the foundation of the American identity.
