Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of residents in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime in their communities.
Neighborhood Watch involves neighbors getting to know each other and working together in a program of mutual assistance; residents trained to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods - essentially, neighbors looking out for each other!
Over 400 residents participate as Neighborhood Watch Block Captains in the City of Manhattan Beach.
Anyone Can Participate! City Residents, young or old, single or married, renter or homeowner!
Why Neighborhood Watch?
There can't be a law enforcement officer on every corner, so citizen involvement is essential to combat crime. By cooperating with each other and law enforcement, people can help fight crime in their community the most effective way - before it begins!
We are always looking for new block captains!
If you would like to get involved, give us a call at (310) 802-5183, or fill out our Neighborhood Watch Interest Card. Does your neighborhood have a Block Captain? View a Map of Neighborhood Watch Areas (PDF).
