Important Notice regarding City parking meters:
On July 7, 2010 the City installed 440 new technology Street parking meters that accept credit and debit cards. All credit card enabled Street Parking Meters no longer support the Cash Key. While it was the City's desire to continue the Cash Key program with any new technology we implemented, our vendor (who manufacturers the existing parking meters and Cash Keys which are accepted only in their meters) currently does not offer a parking technology solution which accepts the Cash Key. The Cash Key can be used in any of the City’s 1,300 parking spaces located in City parking lots and structures.
The 2010-2011 adopted Budget has monies set aside to change out the remaining City parking meters. At that time the Cash Keys will be obsolete. To take full advantage of the remaining credit on your Cash Keys you may use them in any City parking lot or structure (with the exception of the North Pier Lots where the City is still testing new meter technology).
If you wish to receive a refund for your Cash Key and unused credit please come to the City Hall Cashier located at 1400 Highland Avenue during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will need to bring in your Cash Key so we can confirm the amount remaining on your key, at which time staff will get your name and address to process and mail you a City check.
If you have any questions please contact the City Hall Cashier at (310) 802-5557.
Currently your Cash Key is still accepted in the following areas:
-
El Porto Lot
-
Lot 4 (Rosecrans and Highland)
-
26th Street Lot (Bruce’s Beach)
-
Lot M (Metlox)
-
South Pier Lots
-
Lot 1 (9th and Bayview)
-
Lot 2 (12th and Bayview)
-
Lot 3 (12th and Morningside)
-
Lower Civic Center Lot (13th and Morningside)
-
Lot 6 (13th and Highland)
-
Lot 7 (Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Valley)
Approximately 1300 meters in City Parking Lots still accept the Cash Key.
(All credit card enabled Street Parking Meters no longer support the Cash Key).
The Parking Division of Revenue Services administers the collection of parking meter revenue, parking citations, parking permits, and pre-paid parking "Cash Keys." This division also manages the City's taxi cab franchise.
The City runs twelve parking lots, including over 1,400 spaces citywide. These lot locations can be viewed using the on line Parking Lot Map (PDF). Beyond lots, there are over 400 city street meters which serve to regulate the flow of transitory and business traffic flow.
